Decent Belt May 27, 2010
By Eddie The belt works. I think that's about what can be said. Here are a couple surprises/negatives:
- The belt is VERY long (I ordered the shorter length). However, it can just be cut to size.
- Its thinner than I expected.
- Parts of the buckle are not finished well, and thus will rub against fabrics, causing wear spots. Not as much on jeans, but especially on khaki/twill fabrics. Not a major issue, but something of note.
Satisfactory Jan 12, 2012
By BataviaJim Note: I wrote a review for this belt but apparently put it with a different version of the product, so I'm reproducing it here in the right place.
The belt arrived timely and as advertised. It's decent quality, a little thinner but stiffer material than other belts I have of this kind, but seems like it should hold up fine. The buckle seems decent quality and holds the belt snugly.
My only complaint, and the reason I downgraded it 1 star, is that there's no metal tab on the non-buckle end. Other comparable belts have a metal tab (that matches the buckle) on the non-buckle end of the belt, so after you cut it to size the material won't fray. Typically the tab overlaps the belt end by 1/4" or so, and you can pry it off or squeeze it on to keep the end from fraying. You can see what I'm talking about by looking at similar belts on Amazon, in photos of the non-buckle end. This product photo didn't show that end so I wasn't aware the clip isn't there. It's no big deal -- I'll probably put a dab of glue on the end to keep the stitching tight -- but I would have preferred to have the tab.
Otherwise the belt seems fine and a decent value at that price.
Good belt. Strong. A bit thin though. Oct 15, 2011
By SAH The belt is good quality. It fits tight and does not loosen. I have had no problems with it so far. The one thing that could have been better was its thickness. It is a little thin although still strong.
Surprised by Appearance Apr 24, 2011
By Landloper I bought a navy blue belt with a "Silver Buckle", also described as "Navy-Chrome". In the photo, the buckle looks dull like worn silver or brushed chrome. When the belt arrived, I was surprised to see that the buckle and trim had the look of shiny, highly polished chrome. I am not disappointed. We like the appearance of the belt. Also, it was easy to release the buckle from the fabric, cut the fabric to the right length to fit me, and re-clamp the buckle to the fabric. Although the buckle is made of thinner metal than the buckles on other web belts I own, it looks and functions just as well. This belt was inexpensive and a good value for my needs.
Good canvas belt! Jul 05, 2010
By Yewbi I wanted a canvas belt for the summer. This one looks good, fast delivery, and the price is great. Cannot go wrong with this!
