We actually purchased this for our then-4-year old to protect his face from the icky cold Minnesota winters (don't get me started). We were pleasantly surprised to find that the hole sits perfectly on his eyes, something we thought we'd have to adjust. It even fits me and my husband: bonus! Our son says it feels soft and warm on him...no more bright red cheeks. He doesn't mind putting it on because he feels like a super spy with it. He wore it almost every day in the winter (October - April this year, unfrotunately) and it never smelled bad, so maybe others had a defective one. I washed it a few times each month with natural detergent. I suppose, if you sweat in it, you'd need to wash it every few uses. The price wasn't bad, especially since the slightly less expensive ones were inferior in quality (the 3-hole mask we bought at the same time is not good). I hope this helps!

Got this for my boyfriend, who lives in Pittsburgh, back in February. He says it works well enough to keep his face warm when it's snowing, but after a few weeks, even after repeated washings, it started to stink pretty badly. He wore it pretty often until he got a new one. For what it's worth, when I realized I needed a balaclava too, I decided to not buy a second of these. It's very good for the price, though.

The three I purchased came shipped in perfect condition. We went skiing in the mountains of NC with temperatures around 35 degrees. Temperatures at the top of the mountain had to be in the upper-20s, with winds gusting ferociously on the way up the lift. The facemask served the purpose 100%. Too bad there was no fresh snow :(

Mine came exactly as pictured. For around $7 with shipping it's a great buy. It actually fit my rather large head alot better than the $20 dollar mask I bought at the same time. Warm and stretchy - I can pull the hole down to my chin so I can smoke with it on.
